ABBS E-Cell

ABBS E-Cell is a non-profit entity dedicated to promote entrepreneurship amongst students. Established in 2008 with the support of NEN and Enactus. E-Cell has since been helping students to transform into first gen entrepreneurs. So far our Alumni students started more than 20 startup companies. At present 3 (Dinsun branding, Signing Step Creations and Welyar Fruits & Nuts. The incubate students get support from the institute through seed capital, infrastructure support, mentor support, legal support, technical support etc.

During the course of learning entrepreneurship, students learn about themselves, entrepreneurship concepts, effective communication & design, thinking and selling. These skills are valuable to students no matter if they take up a job as an intrapreneur or become an entrepreneur

At the E-cell, students are exposed to international opportunities, social projects, Intellectual Property Rights through guest lectures by successful entrepreneurs, webinars, International exhibitions and industry visits.

Objectives of E-cell:
  • To disseminate knowledge and insights in entrepreneurial theory and practice through lectures activities and workshops.
  • To collaborate with Government Financial Institutions, Technology & training institutes to accomplish the objectives.
  • To seek tie-ups with Non-profit Entrepreneurial organizations connecting e-cell to global network of entrepreneurs.
  • To create a strong network of successful entrepreneurs who would like to guide budding entrepreneurs.
  • Helping aspiring entrepreneurs by incubating their ideas.
  • Providing Mentorship through successful entrepreneurs for students launching their start-ups.
Associations:

ABBS E-Cell is associated with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) is Wadhwani Foundation, Enactus India, in imparting entrepreneurial learning at Global level

Present Activities of the E-cell:

The E-cell at ABBS supports its students' journey of entrepreneurship through phases as orientation, discovery, implementation, startup, growth and expansion.

E-Cell conducts various activities and competitions as well as events specifically for the students of ABBS.

Introduction:

In order to meet the challenges of emerging scenario in the twenty first century and to optimally exploit the new opportunities, the country needs vigorous result - oriented inter- disciplinary efforts, of a nature and scale. The efforts at the highest intellectual level have to be directed towards research, leading to strategies for growth with social justice and progress and understanding of scientific processes, consultancy of an interdisciplinary in nature on specific problems requiring a time bound solutions and development of a new breed of managers, technocrats and development professionals equipped with appropriate knowledge and skills and ability to acquire new knowledge/skills, a vision of things as they could be, and the confidence to face the unknown.

Anticipating the potential unleashed by the globalization and the future demand for personnel, the ABBS Center for Research and Development (ACRD), Bangalore was established. The Centre envisages an educational mission of inter-disciplinary nature by networking the knowledge, efforts and expertise available in the fields of various management disciplines for providing the best technical advice to business executives, policy-makers, planners and researchers.

The Mission:

  • To carry out relevant, high quality research at doctorate levels which suits to society, markets and industry
  • To promote publication and dissemination of knowledge, skills and learning.
The Vision:

To help management interns , scholars and teachers in achieving higher education in management through a holistic approach of education , training , strategic planning, teaching and research with human and ethical values .

Aim:
  • To provide multidisciplinary courses in business management and technology
  • To impart knowledge, skills and education to students in a wide range of management disciplines such as marketing, finance, human resources, business, operations, economics etc.
Objectives:
  • To undertake PhD. programme in management studies and its related disciplines through collaborating, accreditation and affiliation with institutions of higher education
  • To provide advisory and consultancy services on various issues relating to development, business management
  • To undertake research studies on economic development, management, social and political environment
  • To undertake training of personnel and staff of business, corporate and other agencies dealing with business management, operation and strategic planning
  • To organize seminars, workshops, symposia, conference, study tours etc. on various facets of business and management
  • To conduct marketing research, inter disciplinary research, baseline and end line surveys, studies and development research and also to collaborate with other agencies, institutions and organizations in such a manner as may be necessary for the promotion of the objectives of the Centre
  • To organize Executive and Faculty Development Programmes on various facets of business, management, marketing research and methodology, quantitative techniques finance, human resource planning, personnel, strategic management etc.
  • To prepare, print and publish papers, periodicals and books in furtherance of the objectives of the Centre.
  • To offer research related diploma courses in the field of management
Future Plans:
  • Write project proposals in various disciplines of management and development
  • Liaison with reputed research institutes of Bangalore for joint student supervision, internships, and project fellowships
  • Arrange guest lectures by inspiring researchers for motivating students and faculties of the institute
  • Provide faculty training and development programmes for improving the quality of research
  • In the long run set up different research labs for different sub disciplines of management
